Virgin Atlantic takes over London – Seattle non-stop route

Delta Air Lines and British Airways have long-established daily direct services to Seattle from London Heathrow. In late March 2017 Virgin Atlantic will take over the route from their partner, Delta Air Lines. Flights leave Heathrow at 11.00 am arriving Seattle less than ten hours later at 12.40 pm (with 8 hours’ time difference).  The return flight leaves at 8 pm, allowing a full final day in Seattle and arriving back in London 1 pm the following day.  

Greater Seattle – hotel hot-spot

After several years of limited growth, Greater Seattle is experiencing a boom in hotel construction.  During 2016 and 2017, 4,300 rooms in 24 new hotels will be added.  Seven of these, with 1,370 rooms are in Seattle itself. In addition, the city will become home to the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest in 2018 with the completion of the 1,260 room Hyatt Regency Seattle.   The hotel will be located two blocks from the existing Washington State Convention Center and immediately adjacent to the proposed convention center expansion.

Angle Lake – New Light Rail Station

The Central Link light rail connects Downtown Seattle with Sea-Tac Airport and all points between. On September 24th this line was extended south to S 200th Street with the opening of Angle Lake Station which has park and ride facilities. Seattle Southside has ever-improving links from its key location, midway between Seattle and Tacoma.

Over 900 wineries in Washington State

In 1981 Washington State had 19 wineries.  This year it passed the 900 mark, making Washington the second largest premium wine producer in the USA.  These delicious wines can be sampled in hundreds of tasting rooms in the vineyards of eastern Washington,  in Woodinville 20 miles north of Seattle or in Seattle itself.  Wine is another sensational success story for Washington State.
